Significantly expands material and surface treatment options

As of May 12, 2025, meviy, an AI-based parts procurement platform offered by MISUMI Group Inc., will significantly expand its lineup of materials and surface treatments for CNC Milling. The update introduces three new material options and four additional surface treatments, broadening its applications. Newly added materials include A5083 aluminum, known for its excellent weldability and corrosion resistance, and SKD11, commonly used in high-hardness applications such as workpiece receiving surfaces. The expansion also incorporates various materials and surface treatments such as hard anodizing and nitriding, further enhancing usability across diverse use cases.
MISUMI will continue to provide time value to our global customers in the IA (Industrial Automation) industry through expanding our services and contribute to enhancing their productivity.

Since the launch of meviy in 2019, we have continuously expanded our lineup of materials and surface treatments based on customer feedback to meet diverse needs. Today, our platform is widely used across various industries, primarily in automotive, but also in electronics, electrical industries and education sectors. Recently, we introduced automatic quoting for urethane, our first rubber material, further expanding our service offerings*.
In this latest update, we now support A5083 aluminum, known for its excellent weldability and corrosion resistance; MC nylon (black, anti-static), ideal for components in electronic manufacturing equipment where static electricity must be minimized; and SKD11, highly wear-resistant and suitable for applications requiring minimal distortion during heat treatment. Additionally, we have added surface treatments such as nitriding, which is commonly used for sliding components requiring high wear resistance. These enhancements further strengthen our material and surface treatment options, particularly for the automotive and electronics/electrical industries.
