Urethane Auto Quoting Available for CNC Milling

meviy, an AI-based parts procurement platform (powered by MISUMI Group Inc.), has started offering automatic quotations for “urethane” in CNC milling from March 29, 2025. This allows us to provide customers with parts with higher shock absorption, impact mitigation and air tightness than metal or engineering plastics.

Urethane, a material with excellent resilience, is used in a variety of parts in a wide range of industries: a chuck for a robotic arm that requires shock absorption at the point of contact with the workpiece; a damper that requires impact mitigation; and a packing that requires airtightness. However, urethane's resilience makes it difficult to process, limiting the number of fabricators that can handle it. As a result, procurement lead times for urethane parts are generally unstable and tend to be long. 
meviy received many requests from customers facing this situation to support highly resilient materials such as urethane, and this prompted us to start offering auto quotations for urethane parts. To launch this new service, we introduced a processing method that uses water jetting to process urethane, which is a highly resilient material. We also enhanced our production system to provide a stable supply of parts with a short lead time of standard 6-day shipping. 
All of this enables our customers to procure urethane parts through meviy with stable lead times that were previously difficult to plan for. In this way, we are contributing to improving the productivity of the manufacturing industry.
