This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) sets forth how SURUGA SEIKI Co., Ltd. (“SURUGA”) handles the personal information of customers acquired and used for its business.
SURUGA will appropriately handle the personal information of customers by observing the MISUMI Group Fundamental Privacy Policy, this Policy, and applicable laws and regulations.

Article 1 Definition

Terms in this Privacy policy shall be defined as follows:

“Customer” shall mean a person, a company or any organization who uses the services that SURUGA provides.

(2)

“Personal Information” shall mean information relating to a living individual and that either contains a name, date of birth, or other personal descriptions which identify a specific individual (including those which can be readily collated with other information and thereby identify a specific individual), or contains an individual identification code.

(3)

“Principal” means the person who is identified by such personal information.

(4)

“Customer Information” shall mean information relating to the Customer and Customer's company or organization such as name of the company, name of department, name of the person in charge, email address, address, phone number, fax number, bank account, browsing history of SURUGA's website, contents and history of inquiry, quote, or order, etc., including Personal Information.

(5)

“MISUMI Companies” shall mean SURUGA, its parent company, and any subsidiaries or affiliates.

(6)

"Cookie” shall mean a file that a web server creates on a Customer's computer when a Customer connects to a web server. By creating this file, the Customer can easily access the web server by reading the information used in the previous session when connecting to the same web server next time. The cookie itself is an alphanumeric symbol and does not contain any personal information.

(7)

“Web Beacon” shall mean a mechanism to inform the web server that a Customer's computer accesses the page or e-mail by embedding small images in the web page or e-mail. Some of our websites and e-mail viewed and received are checking access status using Web Beacon.

Article 2 Personal Information that SURUGA Acquires

SURUGA may collect the following Personal Information and Customer Information:

Information that Customers provide to SURUGA when Customers use SURUGA's services, such as requesting catalogs, registrations, or contacting SURUGA regarding products, services or websites.

Information collected when Customers use services such as browsing SURUGA's website, keyword searches, downloading of drawings, asking for quotes, and making orders.

(3)

Information that is automatically obtained and stored using Cookies, Web Beacons, or other technologies on the internet when customers use SURUGA's website.

Personal Information and Customer Information that SURUGA collects shall be used for the following purposes. SURUGA will not use the Personal Information for any other purposes without the Principal’s consent.

(1)

To inform Customers of the overview of the business, business activities, and events of MISUMI Companies.

(2)

To sell and ship products; to provide after-sales services related to products and services; to conduct credit checks for payment; to develop products and services; to conduct various promotional activities including announcements of information on products and services; or to conduct various marketing activities including, for example, the distribution of questionnaires and conducting interviews.

(3)

To contact Customers about inquiries to MISUMI Companies.

(4)

To collect Customers' opinions and impressions about MISUMI Companies' services and products.

(5)

To provide services and products that meet the demands of each Customer by conducting research and creating statistical materials on Customers' purchase and behavior using information obtained from user registration, promotional activities, server log analysis, etc.

(6)

To share Personal Information or Customer Information with third parties as set forth in Article 4 of this Policy.

2.

SURUGA will not alter this Purpose of Use beyond that reasonably necessary to the previously disclosed Purpose of Use without notifying the Customer. SURUGA may notify Customer of alterations of this Purpose of Use through publication on SURUGA’s website.

Article 4 Disclosure to Third Parties

SURUGA will not disclose Personal Information or Customer Information to a third party without obtaining the Principal's consent, except in the following cases:

(1)

When necessary to receive orders, to ship products, or to process Customers' payment for the products or services of MISUMI Companies.

(2)

When disclosing Personal Information to contractors or vendors for purposes such as maintenance and operation of SURUGA's systems, marketing, promotional activities, credit checks for processing Customers' payment, development of products or services, after concluding non-disclosure agreement requiring such contractors to refrain from using Personal Information for any other purpose than services outsourced to them.

(3)

When disclosing information that does not identify specific individuals such as statistics data for marketing.

(4)

When permitted as an exception under applicable laws and regulations.

(5)

When Principal has explicitly consented to the disclosure.

(6)

When necessary under applicable laws and regulations.

2.

Notwithstanding the preceding paragraph, SURUGA may share the Personal Information and Customer Information within the MISUMI Companies as follows:

-Information that Customers provide to SURUGA when Customers use SURUGA's services, such as requesting catalogs, registrations, contacting SURUGA regarding products, services or websites.
-Information collected and accumulated when Customers use services such as browsing MISUMI Companies' website, keyword searches, downloading of drawings, asking for quotes, and making orders.
-Information that is automatically obtained and stored using Cookies, Web Beacons, or other technologies on the internet when customers use MISUMI Companies' websites.

notify the Customer of the Purpose of Use;

(2)

disclose, correct, add, delete, and suspend the use of retained personal data;

suspend the provision of retained personal data to third parties; or

(4)

disclose a record of provision to third parties of Customer’s Personal Information.

Security Control Measures
SURUGA takes necessary and appropriate security control measures in order to manage personal data and prevent leakage, loss, destruction etc. The security control measures are as follows:

Organizational Security Control
SURUGA has established internal rules, such as our Information Security Basic Policy, Information Security Guidelines, and Rules for Handling Personal Information, and handles personal data according to these internal rules. SURUGA has also appointed a person responsible for handling of personal information, and conducts periodical investigation on the status of personal data handling, and has a system to respond to any incidents such as a leakage accident.

Human Security Control
SURUGA periodically conducts information security training for its employees, including how to handle personal information to ensure that personal data is handled appropriately. When personal information is provided as set forth in Article 4, SURUGA manages and supervises such parties so that the personal data is handled appropriately.

(3)

Physical Security Control
SURUGA uses security cards for entry to its offices where personal data is stored, and implements other security control actions to protect the data from being stolen or lost such as locking devices and encrypting electronic media. In the case a device or electronic media is stolen or lost, SURUGA has implemented measures such as encryption or password protection to prevent personal data from being accessed. Additionally, when personal data is to be deleted, or devices or electronic media including personal data are to be discarded, SURUGA implements measures to ensure that personal data is not recoverable from the deleted or discarded media.

Technical Security Control
Access to personal information is controlled by access restrictions to limit the scope of those who have access, and identification and authentication are performed for those who access information systems that handle personal data. Additionally, SURUGA uses its security controls to protect the systems that handle personal data to prevent unauthorized access, illegal software, or information leakage.

Understanding the environment in other countries
When SURUGA processes personal data in other countries, SURUGA understands all applicable legal requirements for personal data protections in those other countries and applies appropriate security control measures to comply with them.
