As of November 18, 2024, MISUMI Group Inc. ("MISUMI"; headquartered in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, Japan; Representative Director and President: Ryusei Ono) will implement a phased expansion of its Economy Shipping service, increasing coverage to encompass 30,000 mechanical parts from the current 10,000.
The Economy Shipping service offers a discount* of up to 30% on orders of one or more items when the customer selects the "10 days or more for delivery" option on MISUMI's e-commerce website. This expansion of coverage will enable customers to achieve significant cost savings.

In light of rising labor costs and prices, the IA industry is facing a critical challenge: reducing costs. Our customers are seeking ways to reduce the cost of procuring mechanical parts. In response to these needs, MISUMI introduced the Economy Shipping service*1 in July 2022, which offers significant discounts by simply delaying the delivery date. In July 2024, the range of items covered by the service was greatly expanded to include mechanical parts handled via the MISUMI e-commerce website*2. The Economy Shipping service, which has been well received for offering discounts on even a single item order by simply delaying the delivery date, is currently used by over 20,000 customers.
In response to the positive feedback, MISUMI is pleased to announce an additional cost-saving opportunity for customers: a phased expansion of our Economy Shipping service to include 30,000 items, a threefold increase from the previous number. This is achieved through a comprehensive review of production methods and raw material costs, as well as a thorough reduction of procurement costs through D-JIT*3, a network of inventories from over 400 global suppliers. The Economy Shipping service has previously covered mainly enclosures, adjustment and fastening parts, and material-related parts, it is now expanded to include rotary transmission parts and linear motion parts that are essential for automation equipment. This gives customers with more options for lead times and pricing to fit their production schedules, allowing them to use the service in a wider range of situations.

The discount is automatically applied when the "10 days or more for delivery" option is selected for regular purchases. With our Economy Shipping service, customers can realize cost savings without the hassle of searching for substitutes and quality control. Effective October 15, orders can now be cancelled up to five days before shipping, allowing customers to place orders without worrying about possible design changes. All of this has been appreciated by our customers, as shown below.
