meviy, an AI-based parts procurement platform powered by MISUMI Group Inc. （headquartered in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director and President: Ryusei Ono） is pleased to announce the launch of “meviy Marketplace”, one of the largest marketplaces for Japan’s manufacturing industry. With the launch of this service, customers will be able to easily procure all kinds of machined parts in one place, enabling them to enjoy even greater time value.

In 2019, meviy began its full launch, starting with the provision of milling (square parts) and sheet metal processing services. Turning (round parts) services were then added in 2022 and welding in 2023, expanding the range of services offered. Currently, the number of manufacturing engineers using meviy has exceeded 170,000 users, and the total number of design data uploaded has exceeded 30 million.
However, customers are increasingly demanding the availability of a wide range of processing methods, such as 3D printing, injection molding, welding, urethane casting , casting, and canning.  “meviy Marketplace”, one of the largest marketplaces for Japan’s manufacturing industry , responds quickly to such diverse and ever-changing customer needs. It is a “one-stop-shop service where customers can easily order all kinds of machined parts"　from the manufacturing partners selected based on strict criteria set by MISUMI, which has extensive experience in the industry over the years.

 Specifically, when customers upload their design data, "AI Matching" automatically recommends manufacturing partners that match their requirements. This feature greatly reduces the time and effort required for customers to find new partners to source machined parts.
“meviy Marketplace” also eliminates the need to open an account when dealing with manufacturing partners; anyone with a MISUMI member ID can use the service "instantly and easily". In addition, our chat tool enables a “fully digital” transaction between customer and partner when specification coordination is needed. This streamlines the time and effort required to communicate using traditional methods such as face-to-face meetings, telephone, e-mail and fax.

 It takes as little as 15 minutes to obtain a quote. We also offer an unprecedented range of options: 1-day fastest shipping; over 10,000 combinations of available materials and surface treatments; capable of handling up to 4,000mm; and available in quantities from one piece to mass production. 
“meviy Marketplace” is also linked to meviy so that it provides machined parts that are not available through meviy.

 Our research shows that when customers start a new relationship with their suppliers, they spend an average of 480 hours (80 hours for search and selection, 320 hours for contract procedures, internal applications, account opening, etc. and 80 hours for discussing specification adjustments, emails and visits, etc.). Using “meviy marketplace”, the entire process can be completed in 0.5 hours, reducing the total lead time by 99% and greatly eliminating inefficiencies in the procurement of mechanical parts.
