MISUMI Group Inc. (Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director and President: Arata Shimizu) today announced that, through its U.S. subsidiary, it will establish MISUMI Venture Capital Fund I, LP ("MISUMI Ventures"), a corporate venture capital (CVC) fund to be incorporated in the State of Delaware, United States. Through MISUMI Ventures, the Company will make strategic investments in promising startups driving innovation and creating new value across frontier hardware, robotics, aerospace, medical technology, clean energy, eVTOL (electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft), automation, and industrial AI.
With a planned fund size of US$50 million (approximately ¥7.7 billion, based on an exchange rate of ¥155.23 to US$1), the fund is scheduled to be established in October 2026, with its first investment expected to be completed by the end of the year.
Background and Purpose of the Fund
Background and Purpose of the Fund
The establishment of MISUMI Ventures forms part of MISUMI Group's growth investment strategy, under which the Company has committed up to ¥150 billion over the next three years. As industrial innovation continues to accelerate across North America, the fund is designed to identify, support, and build long-term relationships with promising startups at an early stage.
Many hardware startups face significant challenges in scaling from prototype development to commercial production, particularly in securing reliable supply chains and manufacturing capabilities. To help overcome these challenges, MISUMI Ventures will provide portfolio companies with more than capital. Through access to MISUMI's comprehensive manufacturing ecosystem, startups will be able to leverage services spanning standardized components, configurable products, custom-made parts, and manufacturing solutions.
From day one, portfolio companies will gain access to MISUMI's extensive platform of more than 40 million standardized components, approximately 4,000 sourcing partners worldwide, and a global manufacturing network spanning North America, China, Asia, Europe, and Japan. By combining these capabilities, MISUMI aims to serve as a trusted manufacturing partner throughout the entire product lifecycle, from prototype to production.
By creating synergies with the expertise, infrastructure, and services it has cultivated over more than 60 years, MISUMI seeks to empower innovators developing the products and technologies that will define the future of manufacturing.

Comment from Arata Shimizu, Representative Director and President
We believe that investing at the forefront of industrial innovation is essential to creating long-term value. North America continues to be at the forefront of industrial innovation, and through MISUMI Ventures, we aim to support companies shaping the next generation of manufacturing early in their growth, and to learn from them. This initiative represents a long-term investment in our customers, our technology and our relevance to continue to play in advancing the future of manufacturing.

Comment from David Evans, President and CEO, MISUMI Americas
We have watched a generation of talented hardware teams get stuck at the transition to production. That is a supply chain problem, and it is the one problem we are unusually good at solving. MISUMI Ventures is not a passive check. When we invest, a founder gets an engineering and supply chain team that can quote in minutes, deliver parts in a day, and scale them to thousands of units without changing vendors. That is the most valuable thing we can put on a cap table.
