MISUMI Joins Space Business Co-Creation Platform “Cross U”

MISUMI Group Inc. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Arata Shimizu) has joined the space business co-creation platform, Cross U (General Incorporated Association; Chuo-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Shinichi Nakasuka), as a Special Member A effective June 20, 2026.
Through this participation, MISUMI will strengthen collaboration with companies and research institutions in the space industry and support faster development by leveraging meviy, its AI platform for mechanical parts procurement.

The space industry is gaining attention as a high-growth sector, driven by increased government support in Japan and the expansion of private-sector participation. In space development, technologies are advanced through rapid cycles of prototyping and validation, where speed is a critical determinant of competitiveness.
At the same time, several factors within the parts procurement process—such as the workload required for preparing drawings and obtaining quotations, the limited availability of suppliers capable of handling specialized surface treatments, and uncertainties in delivery timelines—have become bottlenecks that hinder faster development.
MISUMI has been addressing these procurement challenges in the space industry through meviy. In April 2026, MISUMI launched surface treatment services for the aerospace sector.
